Responsibilities of the Director of Facilities Management include planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Facilities Management function of the hospitals at both campuses and selected off-site locations. Duties also encompass the operation, maintenance and disposal of plant facilities and equipment; and loss prevention management, including safety, fire prevention, and protection. The Director will lead an effective operation of the organization’s infrastructure at all locations; develop and implement policies and procedures, establish standards and objectives of performance; evaluate performance and maintain quality assurance; and coordinate with other departments to provide excellent service to patients and employees. The Director manages approximately 65 FTEs, plus one reporting manager at each campus, and is responsible for operating and capital budgets.

The Maintenance/Facility Manager will be responsible for one building 106,000 sq ft. and have knowledge of HVAC systems with particular emphasis on building automation systems, HVAC ASHRAE standards for Health Care Facilities, familiar with DCA and CMS guidelines for new/existing facilities.
Responsible for managing maintenance services at assigned facility to insure safe operating conditions and compliance with all state, federal and accrediting agencies. Plans, organizes and directs the operation of the Maintenance Department.
Requirements: High School or equivalent required. Technical school certificate preferred. Five or more years experience, including two or more years experience in a supervisory position in a healthcare environment. Must possess understanding of Joint Commission Standards as they relate to environment / physical plant and all regulatory requirements, and have clear knowledge of building codes, strong computer skills including energy management systems and AutoCAD. A previous work history in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Plant Operations, the Associate Director for Utilities & Plant Engineering (UPE) is responsible for providing the University with utility services for all buildings. Services include on-site production and distribution, and vendor management for electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, water, sanitary and storm sewerage, steam, hot water and compressed air. Additionally, the Associate Director is responsible for plant engineering support for utility generation and distribution systems, buildings’ mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, energy management, reliability centered maintenance programs, associated design standards, design development, commissioning and project management. Other responsibilities include long term energy master planning, capital planning and budget management, and adherence to all health and safety rules and regulations.
